Matt Sarnecki

Matt is a producer, director, and journalist with the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP). In 2017, his documentary “Killing Pavel” won the medal from Investigative Reporters and Editors, and in 2018 it received the DIG Award (Documentari, Inchieste, Giornalismi – Italy).

A second documentary made by Matt in 2022 – “The Killing of a Journalist” – won multiple international film festivals, was released in cinemas across Europe, and was acquired by Netflix.

Matt holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Columbia University and a Master’s degree in Journalism from the University of California, Berkeley. He was a Fulbright Fellow at the Film and TV School of the Academy of Arts in Prague, Czech Republic.
