Iurie Sănduță

Iurie is the co-founder and director of RISE Moldova. Previously, he worked as a reporter for Ziarul de Gardă in Chișinău.

Specialized in investigations and investigative reporting, in 2008 he uncovered a network of smugglers trafficking gold since the Soviet period. The group included several employees from the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Moldova. Iurie is the author of the investigative articles: “Ukraine’s Tobacco Slaves,” “The Gold Mine Near the Ministry of Internal Affairs,” “The Ministry of Radiation,” and “The Forest Mafia of Moldova.”
